At 10.00 am on the dot, 180 participants had logged in and then followed the 3.5 hour online session entitled ‘Tooth whitening and infiltration – small interventions that have a big impact’.
In cooperation with the company Philips (an Interdentale partner from the very beginning), live bleaching was carried out in the first part. Ms Kerstin Aßmann, the practitioner, also received support here from PD Dr Michael Wicht, who presented the session, enriching it with lots of interesting information on the current scientific state of tooth whitening, not to mention valuable tips on patient communication.
In the second section, the participants experienced live treatment with Icon. This was indeed a special highlight and, even during transmission, it caused numerous outbursts of applause and congratulations aimed at PD Dr Michael Wicht, the practitioner.
The patient had suffered from fluorosis since childhood. Dr Michael Wicht infiltrated six of these fluorotic teeth and was able to completely remove the unsightly white spots.
The patient was overwhelmed by the treatment result and left the treatment room beaming. Dr Susanne Effenberger, a dentist and Head of Clinical Research at DMG, accompanied the treatment by providing lots of background information on the infiltration method and numerous helpful practical tips.
The many good questions posed by participants were answered during the treatments and were a testament to the immense interest the audience had in the subjects presented. We are now looking forward even more to the second part of the online edition of Interdentale, which will take place next Friday (30 October) from 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm under the title ‘Digital workflows in the dental practice and dental laboratory’.
