Flairesse Bleaching Gel: a game changer

Medical Flairesse Bleaching Gel is an important building block in the gentle and effective treatment of developmental enamel opacities that can occur in the permanent teeth of children and adolescents.

Try Flairesse Bleaching Gel

Treating developmental enamel opacities

Developmental enamel opacities such as fluorosis and MIH are particularly problematic in childhood, since the opacities are visible on the anterior teeth.

In young people especially, visible tooth discolouration can have a significant impact on self-confidence, general satisfaction, social relationships and overall quality of life.1

Studies show a positive effect through combined treatment using home bleaching gel and resin infiltration for fluorosis and thus an improvement in self-confidence and self-esteem.2

Low concentrations that pack a punch

Flairesse Bleaching Gel enables gentle bleaching thanks to its low active ingredient content of just 5% or 10% carbamide peroxide (CP). It was specially developed for use as a medical home-bleaching gel in combination with Icon Vestibular for the minimally invasive treatment for developmental enamel opacities and is an approved medical product for young patients.

Comparisons of highly concentrated in-clinic bleaching gels and milder home bleaching gels have demonstrated that less concentrated products cause fewer sensitivities and are more widely accepted by users.3

In a study, the 5% CP product was associated with even less hypersensitivity than the 10% CP product.4

The Benefits of Flairesse Bleaching Gel

Flairesse Bleaching Gel: gentle whitening for a carefree smile

Medical Flairesse Bleaching Gels with 5% and 10% carbamide peroxide enable gentle whitening. They meet the material properties required by DIN EN ISO 28399 with just one hour of exposure time per day over the course of ten days.

Carbamide peroxide slowly breaks down and releases hydrogen peroxide, making the Flairesse Bleaching Gel less aggressive and gentler on teeth and gums. This feature makes it ideal for home whitening with the help of a tray.

The longer exposure time ensures that shade correction is very gentle – an advantage in the treatment of MIH, fluorosis and other developmental enamel opacities and enamel abnormalities.

The infiltration method using Icon Vestibular is a useful addition to help achieve a harmonious overall result, for a carefree smile for young patients.

Perfect interaction: Icon infiltration after bleaching for an optimum overall result

The use of a bleaching gel containing carbamide peroxide reduces the brownish parts of organic protein structures. As a result, the teeth are visually whitened overall. However, in the case of developmental enamel opacities, the porous enamel has a different refractive index than the surrounding healthy enamel, meaning that white spots often remain visible. For a harmonious overall appearance, minimally invasive yet effective infiltration with Icon Vestibular after bleaching treatments is a logical and often essential addition to the treatment of enamel opacities – with maximum preservation of the tooth substance.

Back to a natural smile in just three steps

  1. Pre-treatment of the affected site with an etching gel
  2. Application of Icon Infiltrant – a highly liquid resin
  3. Penetration of the infiltrant deep into the porous enamel through capillary action and light-curing
